Want to know what else? This sauce comes together in just minutes! On top of that, this homemade teriyaki sauce recipe tastes way better than anything bottled. So what are we waiting for? Let’s get to it!
This post is about how to make the best homemade teriyaki sauce recipe.
You will need:
Mince the garlic and grate the ginger. Then, mix all of the ingredients together (except for the cornstarch) in a small bowl or small saucepan. Set the saucepan on medium-high heat and bring it to a boil. Then, reduce the heat to a low simmer.
Make the cornstarch slurry by stirring together the cornstarch and water. Stir it into the mixture and stir frequently until the sauce slightly thickens, about 3-4 minutes. Then, remove from heat.
Use the teriyaki sauce right away or put it in a jar to store for later.
Put the sauce in a jar with a lid and keep it in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
I do not suggest freezing this teriyaki sauce because it has cornstarch in it which may take on a spongey texture when frozen.
