Look no further for the perfect homemade pumpkin spice recipe. If you are making a Fall favorite but don’t have pumpkin spice on hand, this recipe will come to the rescue!
Homemade pumpkin spice and everything nice! That’s my slogan for Fall.
I love everything about Fall: the colder weather, the bundling up, the baking, the aroma. And there’s no better quintessential aroma to Fall than pumpkin spice!
This is what gives pumpkin pie it’s classic flavor.
This is also what gives Fall flavor to any pumpkin-related dessert or drink from pumpkin scones to pumpkin lattes.
This post is about how to make the perfect blend of homemade pumpkin spice.
There are five spices that make up the classic pumpkin spice and each one adds a layer to the pumpkin spice flavor that we all know and love.
The five spices include:
There are two easy steps to making your own pumpkin spice.
First, measure each spice.
Then, mix the spices together and put it in an airtight container.
If you do not have one of the spices listed, you can skip it for now, as long as you have cinnamon for the base.
Cinnamon is the most prominent flavor in pumpkin spice, but the addition of the other spices make it, well, pumpkin spice.
So, ideally, you want all of the ingredients to make the combination. But, if you’re in a pinch, you can make the combination with just three or four of the spices if that’s all you have on hand. But remember, cinnamon must start the base.
Use this spice blend in any recipe that requires that Fall touch.
It tastes amazing in the PERFECT PUMPKIN SPICE OATMEAL. This oatmeal is the perfect way to wake up to any Fall morning!
