This crostini recipe is easy to follow and makes a crispy base for any topping or a great scooper for any dips. Made with just two ingredients, it’s a versatile recipe that can be used with so many others.
This crostini recipe requires just two ingredients: a french baguette and olive oil.
I avoid using salt and pepper because the crostini are usually topped with other ingredients or they are used to dip into a dipping.
Read on to find out how to make the perfect basic crostini.
This post is about how to make an easy crostini recipe.
You will need:
First slice the french baguette into 1/2 inch slices (or slightly thinner).
Then, lightly brush olive oil onto each side of the slices and place them on a baking sheet. Note: The more oil you use, the crunchier the crostini. If you lightly brush the crostini with oil, they will come out crispy. If you heavily brush them with oil, they will come out crunchy.
Bake them for 8-10 minutes at 400°F (no flipping required!).
They are done when they start turning a light golden color. Note: We are looking for a crispy exterior and soft interior.
Take them out of the oven and serve them warm with a dip. These crostini go delicious with this IRRESISTIBLE SPINACH ARTICHOKE DIP.
You can also serve them up with your choice of toppings including goat cheese, jam, roasted vegetables, pickled vegetables, cheese, tomatoes and fresh herbs…the list goes on and on.
