Lucky for me (and you), this is my mom’s tried and true recipe that never fails. Even my husband who’s an avid beef liver fan said he’s never had it as good as this recipe. Although the recipe is rather simple, that’s what allows all of the key flavors to work harmoniously to make a winning dish.

I love spooning this mix into a warm pita bread and enjoying it that way. Regardless of how you enjoy it, rest assured it’ll be a delectable concoction.

  • 1 pound beef liver
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped (about 1½ cups)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
