First, prep the chicken legs. Drizzle them with olive oil and add the seasoning. Rub it all together. The immediate next step is to bake it, you do not need to let this chicken marinate!

Place the chicken on a rimmed baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Bake, uncovered at 400°F for 1 hour. The chicken legs will be done when the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

Personally, I don’t mind it if the chicken roasts a little longer because I love the browning that occurs on the outside of the chicken. I think that’s where the magic happens.

Ingredients

  • 5 pounds chicken legs
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 ½ teaspoons turmeric

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • Prep the chicken, leave the skin on, and put in a big bowl. Drizzle with the olive oil and add the turmeric, salt, and pepper. Mix to evenly coat all of the chicken legs.
  • Place the chicken on a rimmed baking sheet that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Bake for 45-60 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the outside is browned. Enjoy!
