My husband is the one that introduced me to the wonderful world of Italian ice. He’s also obsessed with sorbets and lemonade so I decided to hone in on all of these favorites and create a quick homemade version of a slush to satisfy his frozen dessert cravings.

This strawberry lemon slush takes just minutes to make and doesn’t need to be put in the freezer to set. It can be enjoyed right out of the blender. It doesn’t get better than that!

This post is about how to make a strawberry lemon slush.

To make this recipe, you will need:

How do I make this slush?

  1. To start, peel the lemons.
  2. Cut them in half and take out all the seeds.
  3. Put the strawberries, lemons, sugar, and water in the blender.
  4. Blend until smooth. Use a spatula to push down the slush in between blending, as needed.

Can I freeze the slush?

This is a little tricky because yes, you can, but there’s a strategy to it. To prevent the slush from turning into a block of ice essentially, you will need to stir it multiple times to maintain the “slushy” texture. Every hour or so while it is in the freezer, you will need to take it out and stir it. Do this repeatedly about 3-5 times. If you just let it freeze without stirring, it will freeze into a block of slush that will be difficult to scoop.

Therefore, I suggest making this slush fresh when you’re ready to enjoy it right away. The texture is perfect right out of the blender!
