Notes
What if I want a smooth pasta sauce? The consistency of this pasta sauce is slightly chunky. If you prefer a smooth pasta sauce, put the finished pasta sauce in a blender and puree it. You can also use a hand blender or immersion blender to puree the sauce to a smooth consistency. What if I want a thinner sauce? If you prefer a thinner sauce, add small amounts of water and adjust the end result with salt and pepper. This pasta sauce should be simmered for at least 10 minutes but can be simmered for up to an hour. *Note: The longer it simmers, the thicker it will get. Therefore, you may thin out the pasta sauce towards the end of the simmering phase, if preferred.
