Boil a half cup of water, add two tea bags to it and let it seep.
Separately, in a medium saucepan on medium to medium-high heat, add the milk, pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, vanilla, and sugar. Whisk to combine the ingredients and bring it to an almost boil (steaming hot).
Squeeze out any remaining liquid from the teabags by pressing them against the side of the cup with the back of a spoon. Discard the tea bags and add the black tea to the saucepan. Stir to combine.
Once the milk is frothy and hot, it's done. Pour into cups.Top with freshly-made whipped cream, if desired. Sprinkle with cinnamon or pumpkin spice and serve. Enjoy!
